HELPING THEM ACHIEVE THEIR POTENTIAL

We ensure to create a friendly, home-like atmosphere that helps every child feel comfortable and relaxed. Our facilities are unique compared to other nurseries, as we give children the opportunity to experience a real-life working farm. All of our activities, whether it's collecting minibeasts or feeding animals, has been tailored to help teach and inspire children. Meet the child development team behind name below.

OUR NURSERY TEAM

Laura and Lindsey

Our Directors: Laura and Lindsey

“Hello we are Laura and Lindsey The Directors of The Nursery. We made the decision to open The Nursery in 2017. We had a vision when we saw the building and knew with some TLC it could be transformed into an amazing place for families and children. Its location is perfect, with frequent access into the farm and acres of land to explore, our ability to learn and enjoy the great outdoors are endless. We pride ourselves on creating a home from home environment. We have been extremely fortunate to have the time to carefully choose the best possible staff to help run The Nursery at Whitehouse Farm. We have a team that all share the same vision and understand that we all need to work together as a team to create a relaxed ‘family feel’ to help the children settle in as they would at home. Our overriding philosophy is that nursery provision is not just about the children. It’s also about the parents who tend to put themselves last. So, while the children are safe and nurtured, we also know parents need to find time for themselves in their busy schedule.”

Our AREA MANAGER: STACEY

“I am a dedicated manager who is passionate about education and early years, bringing over 15 years of experience working with children. I began as a nursery practitioner and progressed to a managerial role. I have a range of qualifications, starting with a Level 3 in Childcare and Education, a Foundation degree in Childcare and Education, a First Class Honours Degree in Early Years Practice and an MA in education Leadership and Management.
I have experience in managing provisions, recruitment, and developing tailored curriculums aligned with the EYFS and child development principles. I also have a keen interest in wellbeing and mental health, and I was recognised as the health advocate of the year for Northumberland and completed Mental Health First Aid. I enjoy spending time in the nursery with the children, engaging in activities and ensuring they feel happy, secure, and loved in the nursery environment. With a wealth of knowledge in safeguarding, I have experience in writing CP reports, referrals, and safer recruitment practices.

Area manager Stacey

As a qualified Level 3 SENCO, I have supported children with additional needs and provided guidance to practitioners. I am skilled in processes such as EHA’s, COSA, and ECHP applications. Continuous professional development is crucial to me, and I actively seek learning opportunities through university courses, training sessions, professional discussions, and networking. I strive to keep abreast of current issues, new practices, and legislation in early years education. Building strong relationships with practitioners, parents, and service users is a priority for me. I have written articles for Early Years Educator to promote best practices in working with parents to support the wider community as well as being shortlisted for Nursery Manager at the Nursery World Awards 2022. I foster an inclusive environment within my team, ensuring that all staff feel supported, valued, and equipped with the necessary skills to excel. Leading by example and creating a supportive environment are key aspects of my managerial approach. When teams feel appreciated and empowered, they are motivated to perform at their best, benefiting the overall development of the children. Being present in the nursery allows me to engage with the children, support curriculum development, conduct observations, and provide hands-on assistance to staff.”

"Can't thank the staff enough they really looked out and helped my daughter age 2/3 who had quite a bit of separation anxiety. Amazing ladies, lovely nursery, the best in my eyes with the farm for the kids to explore, and proper homemade meals to eat. Gutted she's moving on to main stream nursery."
